Built in the French Renaissance style, the former gentlemen’s club was designed in
1877 by M P Manning. The flamboyant roofscape features prominent slender chimneys,
several decorative dormers and ornamental gables. In recent times the ground and first
floors of the building have been appropriately refurbished for the J.D. Wetherspoon
chain of public houses.
Painting size 500mm x 340mm, 2008.
